Riders Republic: PC Play Day – Update: We Saw We Played..

Update: 13th October 2021 – DrDink and Gamemeh played for an hour or so yesterday evening. We decided that the game is chaotic fun, but very complicated. Needlessly complicated for what it is, and both agreed that we thought it would have made a great free-to-play title, rather than a fully priced triple A game. They could have well made back money via cosmetics (which are all in the game anyway along with the in-game currency too). A shame really as it is actually quite a challenge and a lot of fun. – I’ll return to play it again in about 3 years when it might be either cheap as chips or even… free. Till then, I’ve put ‘Steep’ back on my list of games to revisit as that is effectively what Riders Republic seems to be

Original Story: 11th October 2021 – Heads up PC players!

Ubisoft has not long ago announced that PC players can now Pre-load the 23gb download of Riders Republic that they can play for free in a one-day PC Play Day, starting tomorrow here in the UK at 8am. This 24 hours free-to-play limited version of the as yet unreleased title is in part to say thank you to those who took part in the recent beta tests.

Jump into the Riders Republic massive multiplayer playground! Bike, ski, snowboard, or wingsuit across an open world sports paradise. Race in mass start events, develop your rider’s career, or kick back with friends and free roam the parks.

Hey, it’s a free chance to try out a limited slice of the game which is as yet unreleased, and won’t be released till near the end of the month. It’s also going to be a fully priced game too, so free is free baby. I am pre-loading the title now as I did get to play a very little bit of the beta, so I will be online tomorrow evening giving this a good try out. So what does ‘limited’ mean… Let’s dive in and take a look…

Mass Race: Three different multisport races with more than 50 players. New races appear randomly on the map every 30 minutes.

Versus Mode: Join up with five friends in any career event and see who’s the very best.

Tricks Battle: Compete in 6v6 matchups and try to land as many tricks as possible on the various modules to capture them and earn points. The team with the highest score wins.

Free for All: Challenge up to 11 opponents and show them how it’s done through a select playlist of events.

That’ll be more than enough for me to get my teeth into, perhaps with some company too. Here’s a link to add the game to your account and then download the Uplay Connect Desktop launcher (app) [aka Uplay App]. For more information and the latest news about the game itself, visit the main site here.

The game will be playable here in the UK from 8AM on Tuesday 12th October 2021 for 24 hours.
