Battlefield 2042

Battlefield™ 2042 is a first-person shooter that marks the return to the iconic all-out warfare of the franchise. In a near-future world transformed by disorder, adapt and overcome dynamically-changing battlegrounds with the help of your squad and a cutting-edge arsenal.

This is it. This is the big title of the year that I have been waiting for. I was lucky enough to take part in the Closed Technical Test a while ago and since then DICE has decided to delay the release of the game – fairly standard for big titles like this these days. I think they probably do it on purpose perhaps to get more interest in the game, much to the dislike of their core fans. We’ve always felt a little hard-done-by as opposed to the ‘new’ fans trying the series out for the first time. This time, it HAS to be different. This game HAS to be a win for DICE and EA due to the issues with Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 last time out. Too many things were wrong with that game, so it is important for DICE to deliver a winning title this time out.

With the release date of the game pushed back once already, this week form the 6th October 2021 we should be getting access to the Open Beta. Early Access from the 6th October then becoming open to the World to play for free from the 8th – 10th October 2021. I hope that many a person from UselessGamers will join in on the Beta, if nothing more then at least for the free days of the Open Beta. This is (hopefully) going to be ‘THE’ game that I spend most of my time with this Winter.
